Cadmans Pool in The New Forest starts off at a lovely pool area with plenty of walks around the Cadmans Pool area. We had a short walk at Cadmans Pool in The New Forest
We love the New Forest, there are so many lovely little circular walks that are usually well marked and easy to find, this walk at Cadmans Pool is another great walk in The New Forest.
Short Walk At Cadmans Pool
This is a short circular walk in The New Forest which would be good for little legs or if you just fancy a short walk. It has a good-sized car park and is easy to find off the main road.
Cadmans Pool is at the start of the walk and where the car park is. Look out for wildlife around this area as there were lots to see at the time of our visit. It would be a good place to sit to have a picnic after you’ve had your walk.

When we first arrived at Cadnams Pool the New Forest pigs we’re there! We hadn’t heard much about them at that time, so was surprised to see them! They’ve been put into the New Forest to eat all the acorns, rather than being left for the horses. They do a fantastic job at this, and Mummy pig had lots of piglets to look after! Don’t go near them though as they can be aggressive.

We took the path which goes down the hill into the woods

It was very dry when we visited but I can imagine this is really wet and muddy during the winter months. You can see a dried up stream here!

Keep following along the paths and stream and you will come to an opening with a path to the left. We took this one along here

Which brings you to this little bridge over a stream.

Opposite this little bridge on the left is a gated path into the woods

Keep following the path up through the woods

You then come to another path at the top, take the left

And left again!!

Your reach another gate which opens out onto a large area of the New Forest

Follow the paths around to the left and you will see Cadmans pool again. This is back at the start and where the car park is.
