Take a look at our visit to The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, it was such a fantastic day out and even better you can take your dog in here too. So perfect for when you’re on holiday and want to take the children out somewhere too.
Whilst we were away in the Cotswolds we wanted a day out with the children somewhere they would find fun and interesting to explore. So we picked Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens as it had a mixture of animals, and places to explore and was about 40 minutes away from Norton Grounds where we were staying.
As soon as we arrived Cotswold Wildlife Park had a lovely feeling, you drove up an open driveway where you pay your entrance fee to get in, so make sure you have your payment near to hand!
As soon as you get out of your car and walk into the park, you are greeted by animals.
Close to where we started was the Lemur walk, this is a great section of the Cotswold Wildlife Park, as you can walk through the Lemurs. The first time around they were hidden and we didn’t see many, but the second time around they all came out to play!!
This was one of the favourite parts of the kid’s day, 2 of them had to buy a Lemur with their spending money in the shop at the end!
Another part they spent a lot of time at was the Penguins, we timed it right for the Penguin talk and feeding session.
I was surprised how many great animals were there too, I didn’t expect it to be so good!! You were able to get so close to the big animals as well, which was such an experience for the children. Me too, as my favourite animals are Giraffes and they were able to come right up to you!

There were bugs, bats and creepy crawlies! (Snake picture coming up next)
There were great garden spaces for the kids to run around and explore, which would be perfect for a picnic in the warmer months.
Then we ran around a corner and saw THIS
A super duper amazing (kids words!) adventure playground. It kept them busy for ages and if we adults hadn’t frozen whilst waiting for them they would have played longer!
Look who came in with us! Dixie is a Hearing Dog for the Deaf puppy who can have access to places which most pet dogs can’t, but at the Cotswold Wildlife Park you are allowed to take your pet dog in with you. Must be on lead and there are certain places that you cannot take them in too.
When we visited it cost £15 per adult to get in and £10 per child, which we felt was really good value for our day out, we loved the open feel of the park. The animals weren’t all cramped in and we would happily visit again. We were out all day, even though the weather was a bit rubbish at times!

Wow that playground is a really good one, I completely agree it really is “super duper”. Looks like they had some really good animals too. I love penguins! 🙂 #countrykids
I must say this does sound like good value for a day out when they have all those animals. I love that you could get so close to the big animals and I would love to have turned up for penguin feeding. I have even asked Nick if we could have penguins at Coombe Mill but they need a zoo licence. You have some amazing photos, the bat and the snake are fab. We’ve driven past the signs for this location many times before and have never actually been in but sounds like it should be on our visit list. My favourite animals are giraffes too and it’s so nice to see they have some #CountryKids
