Are you looking for a National Trust place to visit in the Cotswolds? Then check out our visit with the children to Hidcote National Trust on a sunny Easter Holidays
Whilst we were away in the Cotswolds and staying at Norton Grounds, we visited Hidcote National Trust. Created by the talented American horticulturist, Major Lawrence Johnston, there are a great set of little gardens all around the site.
Full with unusual plants or little areas of gardens that you could easily re-create in your own garden. First off you are greeted by a beautiful house, with brightly coloured doors and stunning windows.
As it was Easter, Hidcote had an Easter Bunny hunt on, the children ran off to find the boxes around the gardens. Some were quite tricky but we got them all in the end!
The kids loved that there were so many places to explore, with hills, paths and hidden routes.
They even came across a tennis court, where they enjoyed a quick game of tennis…..sort of!
I took this picture of them on this bridge, you can see just how beautiful it is at Hidcote. Just imagine what it would look like in the summer months when everything is blooming.
I am never usually quick enough to capture a Robin, but we were sitting happily eating our lunch and this little Robin came and joined us!
So once we had found all the clues, explored all the gardens and 5 kids had fought over who got the clue box first we headed back to the start where they collected their Easter reward.
We have purchased a National Trust family membership, as we think we could have so many nice days out exploring more venues across the UK.

What a lovely happy day and no wonder it inspired you to purchase National Trust membership. Your children look a perfect age to enjoy all the National Trust has to offer. I love that last photo of them all jumping up in the air, they all look delighted with their finds!
